They are prolific layers, producing around 180 to 240 medium to large brown eggs annually. As for size, the roosters average 8.5 pounds, while the hens weigh about 6.5 pounds. It’s important to note that while Turkens are hardy, they do require extra care in colder climates due to their fewer feathers. When it comes to breeding Turkens, about 90% of chicks hatch with the naked neck trait, while the remaining 10% may have feathers on their necks.
